Summer 2018 trip to Washington DC, NYC, Montreal

Patricia and I drove from Marietta to Ashville, North Carolina, and explored the artsy vegan friendly town before getting on the 'Blue Ridge Parkway.'  We took three scenic days driving about 400 miles of  Appalachian mountains ridgetop, a 45 mph two lane road reserved for non-commercial traffic.  The North end goes through Shenandoah National Park, and then we turned east 40 miles to Washington DC.
Blue Ridge Parkway cabin.  The logs are spaced apart for ventilation in the summer, cracks are closed in the winter.

Patricia's daughter was in Europe, gave us a key to her apartment, a mile and a half North of the White House. There was a bus every 10 minutes to take us to the Capital.

We arrived in time for Rolling Thunder on Memorial Day, 10,000's of motorcycles drove up the Capital Mall, as well as this bad looking truck.

The Smithsonians, Renwick Gallary, Sculpted waterfront pier, Catholic Basilica, W.H. tour, Masonic Temple, many vegan restarants, Happy people, deer outside the Naval Observatory.

Annapolis, bike for P., ferry across Delaware Bay to Cape May, visit T. North of Atlantic City, up the New Jersey side of the Hudson, across the Tappan Zee Bridge and down the east side of the river to Yonkers, where we found an affordable one month appartment rental with a sweeping view of the Hudson River and the 400 foot rock cliffs of the New Jersey side.  We were a 10 minute walk up the hill from the Glenwood rail station, only about 25 minutes to Grand Central Station.
